These full-time positions are intended to prepare promising applicants for an academic career at NUS Law, and to make a future impact as thought leaders in Singapore law and in the wider academic research communitySuccessful candidates will be appointed for two years on a competitive salary. You will teach half of the standard faculty workload, typically by joining one of the team-taught, compulsory subjects. Sheridan Fellows are expected to utilize the reduced teaching load to develop their research skills with the support of faculty mentors. Sheridan Fellows are also expected to participate actively in faculty events, including presenting papers in the Faculty Research Workshop or other suitable avenuesAt the conclusion of the two-year period, and provided that you are performing satisfactorily in teaching and research, you would be expected to pursue studies towards a doctorate, after which you will return to the Faculty and be assessed for appointment as an Assistant Professor on the tenure-track. (Candidates who are interested in pursuing a doctorate immediately should consider the .) Sheridan Fellows who do not have an LLM degree will normally need to complete such a degree before moving on to the doctoral degree.QualificationsApplicants should have: (i) a First Class or a very good Second-Upper Honours Undergraduate LLB degree from a well-regarded law faculty; and (ii) a demonstrated capacity to produce high quality research evidenced by, for example, published academic work, or student papers that have received academic prizes or other forms of recognitionThe faculty welcomes applications from candidates who have carefully reflected on their motivations for pursuing an academic career, and who can clearly articulate a research agenda.
