Reporting to the R&D Director, the FPGA Electronics Design Engineer will design, develop and support electronics assemblies in new products innovation for lifescience, pharmaceutical and biochemical industry. This is a permanent headcount position.

Client Details

With a continual expansion of my client's R&D Team in Singapore, my client is a large US MNC who is a leader in lifescience analytical technology. In the effort of expansion, they are looking for an experienced FPGA Electronics Design Engineer to join their team.


Design, develop and test on-board data handling systems for mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography and other analytical science instruments.

The FPGA Electronics Design Engineer is responsible to perform the RTL and VHDL/ VERILOG coding procedures including the FPGA enforcement process.

Based on project requirements, design functional specifications for the programming of chips on a new FPGA platform, including real-time digital signal processing systems using FPGA.

Working closely with the software, firmware and hardware team, design and develop real-time embedded FPGA systems to define and implement verification flow.

Maintain strong communication and execute project tasks with R&D team in United Kingdom and local team.

Lead and ensure various aspects of the high speed FPGA instruments including its confirmation procedures, stipulations, and enhancement processes to ensure the design can work at an advanced speed limit at various board levels.

Communicate and coordinate closely with Singapore operations, logistics, quality, contract manufacturers and suppliers for any engineering design changes/ development.

Perform digital electronics design from physical stages, evaluate prototypes, perform analysis and simulation, perform hardware (module level) testing to ensure integration with instrument/hardware performs well.

Define working parameters and output and input processes for system, coordinate the development of subsystems modules and perform FPGA system integration of all subsystems.

During execution of hardware enhancement phase, execute FPGA verification and simulation activities to ensure configuration of circuitry, programmable logic and microcontroller software algorithms are working well.

Conduct investigations into product quality or manufacturability problems including examining, debugging, and consolidating the FPGA designs on specific platforms.

Perform system verification and validation to identify system deficiencies and provide corrective actions, ensuring system's efficiency, reliability and compatibility.

Verify system designs are in compliance with performance and functional requirements.

Ensure to complete design and development tasks within allotted timelines.

Knowledge of Soft core processor design (Microblaze or NIOS programming) is a plus for this role.


Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering

Passionate in the design and innovation of electronic products, familiarity with FPGA design and verification, RTL design, HDL language experience (VHDL or Verilog).

Ability to work independently, interact and contribute in a team environment that spans multiple geographical and time zones.
