- Establish and implement robust and comprehensive BCM program for Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery including third-party and outsourcing providers / vendors to ensure resumption of critical business services and functions in a timely manner to mitigate disruption to business operations, financial loss or reputational damage.
- Play a pivotal role as subject matter expert on BCM to review and provide insightful advice & objective assessment to BUs/BEs on the evaluation of Business Impact Analysis in identifying the critical business services or functions and their maximum tolerable downtime; and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) in establishing recovery strategy and prioritisation during a disruption.
- Develop, lead and oversee the execution of BCM program for the BUs/BEs, including Business Impact Analysis process, recovery strategy, and develop enterprise-wide BCP that addresses disaster recovery, business recovery and emergency response management for businesses, critical system / services and third-party arrangements.
- Oversee detection, response, resolution and reporting of incidents that affect business operations or systems. Ensure incidents are managed effectively and efficiently to minimize business disruptions and impact.
- Drive the continuous improvement initiatives to ensure business, operational and technology resilience in incident management or business disruptions, including third-party arrangements.
- Work closely with IT stakeholders and other NFRM specialists in establishing coherent business and operational resilience strategies, roadmap and BCP to strengthen the Bank's technology risk resilience, address potential vulnerabilities and ensure continuity of business operation with better responsiveness and recovery from technology-related incidents.
- Provide strategic advisory and insightful guidance to the risk committees / working groups / forums / steering committees related to change process management or projects specifically addressing matters related to crisis management / BCM.
- Drive the deliberation of recovery strategies in collaboration with Crisis Management Committee members in the event of disruptions or crisis.
- Promote and instil a strong culture of business continuity management among the BUs/BEs to embed risk consciousness in operational processes for sustainable growth.
- Report and escalate to Senior Management / risk committees on business disruptions and mitigation activities or any other high or critical issues requiring attention and remediation.
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting or numerate studies
- Professional or post graduate qualifications e.g. chartered accountant, MBA will be advantageous
- Possess at least 15 years of operational risk management with experience in crisis management / business continuity management, quality assurance or other risk control-related function from the banking industry.
- Equipped with strong knowledge of operational risk frameworks and understanding of industry best practices including the specialized subject matter. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards / framework (e.g. ISO 31000, ISO 22301, MAS BCM Guidelines etc)
