Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and dedicated Research Engineer to join our team in National University of Singapore focused on hydrogen safety modeling. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and application of computational models to assess and mitigate safety risks associated with hydrogen utilization, storage, and transportation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects in hydrogen safety, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to advancements in the field of hydrogen technology.The responsibility of the positions include:1, Assist in the development and implementation of computational models to simulate hydrogen release, dispersion, and combustion in various scenarios, including indoor and outdoor environments, confined spaces, and transportation systems.2, Conduct numerical simulations and analyses to evaluate the potential hazards and consequences of hydrogen-related incidents, such as leaks, releases, and accidental ignition events.3, Support the validation and verification of computational models by comparing simulation results with experimental data and real-world case studies.4, Assist in the investigation of key parameters influencing the behavior and consequences of hydrogen safety incidents, such as hydrogen concentration, release rate, ventilation conditions, and ignition sources.5, Collaborate with researchers, engineers, and stakeholders to design and conduct experiments for model validation, calibration, and improvement purposes.6, Support the dissemination of research findings through the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings.Qualifications1, Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.2, Strong understanding of computational fluid dynamics (CFD), or similar numerical methods for simulating fluid flow and heat transfer.3, Familiarity with modelling and simulation software packages such as ANSYS Fluent, COMSOL Multiphysics, OpenFOAM, or similar tools for multiphysics and multiscale simulations.4, Basic knowledge of hydrogen properties, behaviour, and safety considerations, including flammability limits, combustion characteristics, and hazard assessment methodologies.5, Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, C/C++ for scripting, data analysis, and code development.6, Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.More InformationLocation: Kent Ridge CampusOrganization: College of Design and EngineeringDepartment : Mechanical EngineeringEmployee Referral Eligible: NoJob requisition ID : 24181
