- Establish, charter, and chair the enterprise-wide Platform Integrity Review Board and the Platform Design Authority, serving as the ultimate decision-maker on architectural standards.
- Define, document, and enforce a unified set of architectural principles, patterns, and best practices for all commercial systems, including standards for data modeling, integration, security, and code quality.
- Own and maintain the master enterprise architecture documentation repository, including system landscape diagrams, canonical data models (ERDs), integration catalogs, and a central metadata registry for object ownership.
- Lead the non-negotiable, semi-annual Platform Hygiene Review process to proactively identify and drive the remediation of technical debt, orphan components, and configuration drift across all business units.
- Serve as the primary technical advisor to the Head, Commercial Systems on the long-term technology roadmap, leading the evaluation and strategic assessment of new technologies (e.g., Copado, Qtest, SEON, Seismic) to ensure they align with our platform-agnostic vision.
- Provide holistic architectural oversight for all major strategic programs to ensure individual solutions are aligned, reusable, and do not introduce cross-system conflicts or platform instability.
- Partner with business stakeholders and Business Analyst leads to "shape demand," not just receive it; ensure new initiatives are architecturally vetted for feasibility, impact, and strategic fit before they are approved and enter the delivery pipeline.
- Act as the senior technical authority in all vendor governance forums, ensuring partners such as MSPs and Vendors adhere strictly to our architectural standards and that all key architecture decisions remain with the internal team.
- Act as the final point of technical approval for all high-level solution designs, ensuring they are scalable, secure, maintainable, and compliant with enterprise standards before any build work commences.
- Mentor and guide the Lead Solution Architect and Lead Technical Architect in the creation and adoption of robust, reusable design patterns and frameworks, elevating the quality of design across the organisation.
- Mediate and resolve architectural disagreements between project teams, vendors, and business stakeholders, making decisive, data-driven calls to protect long-term platform integrity over short-term project expediency.
- Partner directly with GRC, Audit, and Cyber Security teams to design and embed compliance controls (e.g., SOX, PSM for privileged access) directly into the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Own the overarching security architecture for the commercial systems landscape, including the enterprise data access model, integration security patterns, and identity and access management (IAM) strategies.
- Proactively identify, communicate, and mitigate architectural risks that could impact platform performance, scalability, or security, presenting findings and remediation plans to leadership.
- Serve as a dedicated "player-coach" responsible for up-leveling the technical capabilities of the entire Commercial Systems team, from developers to leads.
- Establish and lead technical communities of practice (CoPs) for architecture, development, and DevOps to foster knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Define and champion the technical career progression framework for engineers and architects within the team, actively mentoring individuals to help them achieve their growth objectives.
- A minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in enterprise software development and architecture, with at least 8 years of deep, hands-on experience within the Salesforce ecosystem.
- Demonstrable mastery of the Salesforce platform at an enterprise scale, including multiple core clouds (Sales, Service, Experience), the Lightning Platform (Apex, LWC), and advanced data modeling for large, complex organizations.
- Expert-level knowledge of enterprise integration patterns and technologies, including REST/SOAP APIs, Platform Events, and middleware/iPaaS platforms (e.g., MuleSoft).
- Hands-on experience implementing and managing modern DevOps practices and tools for CI/CD, source control, and automated testing (e.g., Copado, Gearset, Git, Qtest, Selenium).
- Proven, real-world experience establishing and leading technology governance bodies, such as an Architecture Review Board (ARB) or a Design Authority.
- Exceptional executive communication and influencing skills; a demonstrated ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior business and technology leaders, translating complex technical topics into strategic implications and business value.
- Strong business acumen with experience working across multiple business domains (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations) in a large-scale, fast-paced, global enterprise.
- A passion for mentorship and a proven track record of developing technical talent and fostering a culture of engineering excellence.
- Required: Salesforce Certified Application Architect.
- Required: Salesforce Certified System Architect.
