- Develop and execute various strategies and initiatives to enhance NUS Libraries' and NUS Museum's presence and visibility to reach audiences, with a particular focus on activating spaces within the Libraries and Museum to engage visitors and enhance overall vibrancy of the Libraries and Museum space.
- Conduct detailed research and studies into any given placemaking project or communications challenge, from literature reviews to case studies, audience surveys and focus group discussions, in order to provide a sound basis for proposing solutions and concepts.
- Actively identify opportunities and propose activation concepts, seeing projects through from inception, to execution, and steady-state maintenance or conclusion. This can range from creating augmented reality experiences, to refreshing wayfinding signage, developing and implementing a meaningful visual system for communications, and even site-specific events.
- Propose and track meaningful performance indicators and measures of success for the above, regularly reporting these indicators to management and using the findings to inform adjustments and enhancements to these concepts.
- Work cross-functionally across multiple business units and departments, coordinating inputs and synchronising efforts in support of the placemaking objective.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices, and serve as the subject matter expert for placemaking in the NUS Libraries and NUS Museum context
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a related field such as User Experience Design, Interaction Design, Information Architecture, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or a similar discipline.
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Urban Design, Art, Marketing or related fields.
- Experienced candidates preferred, with a minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in developing and delivering placemaking, user experiences and similar initiatives with a proven track record.
- Fresh graduates with an applicable portfolio of past work (freelance, internship or coursework) may apply, but will be hired at a level commensurate with experience and qualifications.
- Proven competency with Adobe Creative Suite software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), basic web design (use of CMS, html code), creative collaboration tools such as Canva and/or Figma, as well as Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
- Possess a clear passion for the arts, as well as the preservation of cultural heritage and academic learning.
- Attention to detail and ability to “read the fine print”, understand strategic intent and translate it to a creative brief or proposal.
