So that together we can support even more people - including our own - to live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives.If you believe in better, we’d love to hear from you.About the RoleWe are currently recruiting for a Global Equities Analyst!The main objectives of this position are to manage general account and ILP funds that invest in external mandates/funds within Equities, reporting to the Head of Global Equities, in order to consistently deliver alpha from investments in equity markets, with a focus on risk control as per agreed volatility budget/constraints of each portfolio.The Global Equity team will collaborate with relevant investment professionals to develop appropriate mandates for equity portfolios, implement portfolio management, and report performance attributes. The team is expected to work seamlessly with Group Investment, Business Units and AIAIM to achieve its objectives and manage communications.Job responsibilities:
  • Work hand-in-hand with the Global Equities to handle and construct outsourced equity portfolios, from idea generation/fund selection to investment due diligence and portfolio construction, to meet the portfolio’s overall risk and return targets.
  • Day-to-day responsibilities would be primarily on supporting the team to conduct investment research review on active equity fund managers and other liquid equity instruments (e.g. ETFs), managing the research dashboard and the operational aspects to funding and termination.
  • Provide regular analysis and assessment of the managers within the portfolio, including regular manager review, including where needed to develop tools and reports to handle risk and performance
  • Build research expertise and develop analytical tools to support decision making in the team for the overall equity program and propose recommendations and solutions required for global equities allocation
  • Stay ahead of relevant global developments in the capital markets so as to help in idea generation for the overall portfolio.
  • Report portfolio performance and attribution
  • Be both a teammate and a coach/mentor for the other members in the Global Equity team as the team grows and expands
Job requirements:
  • At least 5 years of funds selection/research experience.
  • Strong expertise in fund of fund selection, demonstrated by a well-defined and consistent investment process
  • Outstanding technical proficiency, understanding of investment strategies and their implications, as well as implementation and value enhancement strategies in the physical, fund and derivative markets.
  • Strong operational understanding, experience with transition management and the onboarding and termination of funds/mandates.
  • Experience working with or in an Insurance AMCO a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and engagement skills
  • Exceptional reputation as a teammate. Post graduate degree in business, finance, economics or related fields, CFA preferred.
