
Data Actuary

- Collect, clean, validate, and analyze large datasets to support pricing, reserving, and risk analysis functions.
- Design and maintain actuarial models and tools for various lines of business.
- Develop dashboards and automated reporting to monitor key actuarial metrics.
- Support experience studies, assumptions development, and forecast modeling.
- Evaluate existing actuarial workflows to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
- Design and implement process automation using tools such as Excel VBA, Python, SQL, R, or actuarial software
- Collaborate with IT, data engineering, and operations teams to enhance data infrastructure and improve data accessibility.
- Create and maintain documentation for workflows, procedures, and best practices.
- Work with product, finance, underwriting, and compliance teams to provide actuarial insight and support cross-department initiatives.
- Communicate technical concepts and findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related field.
- Progress toward actuarial credentials (ASA/FSA or equivalent); designation preferred.
- 5+ years of actuarial experience, ideally with exposure to data analytics or operations.
- Strong technical skills: Excel, SQL, and at least one programming language (Python, R, VBA, etc.).
- Experience with actuarial software and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
- Proven ability to optimize and automate workflows or reporting processes.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
