What the role is:At the Health Promotion Board (HPB), we're on a mission to transform data into actionable insights that drive positive change to our citizens!As a Data Specialist in the Chief Data Officer's Office at HPB, you'll play a pivotal role towards realising our data strategy and making a real impact on citizens' lives. Our vision? To create a more data-centric HPB by enabling a comprehensive 360-degree view of citizens across socio-demographics, health, and lifestyle domains.Roles and responsibilitiesEnhancing the 5Vs (Velocity, Volume, Value, Variety and Veracity) of Data
  • Develop and implement robust processes, automation, and infrastructure for secure and efficient data fusion that also upholds trust among citizens.
  • Establish a rigorous framework to validate outputs post-data fusion.
  • Develop a roadmap to enhance capacity and capability in sensitive data handling, anonymization, and searchability best practices.
  • Implement data codification and indexing processes to facilitate easy interpretation and searchability.
  • Collaborate with international partners to benchmark best practices and drive continuous improvement.
Facilitating Seamless Data Sharing and Empowering Collaborators
  • Deepen your understanding of HPB datasets, becoming the go-to person for data interpretation and nuances.
  • Drive practices that enhance secured data sharing while ensuring interpretability and searchability.
  • Address common data queries by devising self-help processes and tools.
  • Create and enforce data request evaluation protocols and access rules.
  • Bridge the gap between data requests and business objectives by assessing and facilitating approvals.
Qualifications
  • Relevant work experience in data integration, analytics, statistics, data science, public health, or epidemiology.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data management, systems implementation, or equivalent roles.
  • Basic proficiency in coding (Python, R) and adeptness with large datasets.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills coupled with strong process-oriented qualities and the ability to quickly grasp business requirements.
  • Problem-solving mindset and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
