By working in our world-class research, design, and development (RDD) department, these individuals have the opportunity to work alongside leading technical specialists and highly motivated creative people to create products which fulfil our ambition of being truly different and better than our competitors.About the roleAs a Health and Safety Manager embedded within the energy storage team in Singapore you will have responsibility for:Leading H&S planning and direction within Energy Storage, assuring alignment with Dyson's central Health & Safety TeamChampioning improvements and leading engagement with the Dyson health and safety management systems. This will include working closely with the research leadership team to ensure compliance across the teamLiaising with Managers, Laboratory Leads and topic experts to ensure a consistent approach to health and safety across multiple teamsDeveloping and managing business processes relevant to Energy Storage activities that assure safe systems of work are implemented and that actions are proactively monitored. This may include directly working with the team to implement changes to labs to ensure H&S culture and standards are upheld.Providing pragmatic advice and guidance to support managers and employees carry out their duties in a safe and compliant mannerManaging planned and preventative maintenance of safety critical assets such as pressure, ventilation, electrical and safety systems related to energy storage facilities and equipment.Managing a programme of occupational hygiene monitoring and occupational health screeningLeading in the review of safety assessments (HAZID, HIRAC, HAZOP)Communications and TrainingEnsuring that relevant health, safety, and environmental responsibilities are understood by all.Providing H&S education, awareness, instruction, and training within energy storage.Supporting departmental and site H&S communities to ensure management undertake effective 2-way consultation with employees on H&S matters.ReportingProactively managing Energy Storage Health and Safety KPI's, report complianceLeading and reporting on a programme of internal workplace audits to monitor compliance and to drive improvement.Monitoring KPI's and identifying opportunities for improvement / focusLeading investigation of significant incidents within the energy storage team and feedback to the management teamAbout youA recognised Health and Safety qualification* (NEBOSH Certificate minimum) or equivalentIdeally working towards NEBOSH Diploma or equivalentDemonstrable continuing professional development (CPD)A good level of Industry experience preferably within R&D or Engineering/ Chemical manufacturing or similar hazardous industriesCredible with an ability to demonstrate a level of competence in health and safety to gain stakeholder confidence.Good communicator with an ability to convey health and safety issues concisely and accurately. Confident and comfortable with interacting with senior managers.Excellent interpersonal skills with a natural ability to build productive working relationships and influence.Assertive and prepared to act where required.Good analytical skills, to be able to assess problems thoroughly and drive logical conclusions. Experience of leading health and safety investigations.Ability to deliver training in a clear and concise manner with confidence.Knowledge of a specialist area of H&S with recognised industrial experience. Such as Fire, Electrical, Mechanical and/or Chemical safety.Good IT skills - proficiency with Microsoft package software.Experience of working collaboratively in a matrix organisation.Building strong stakeholder relationships (internally and externally) and partnership with enforcement officers.Membership of the Institution of Occupational Health and Safety (IOSH)or equivalent for SingaporeMembership of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (PIEMA) - Desirable.Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer.Ideally Educated to degree level.BenefitsDyson Singapore monitors the market to ensure competitive salaries and bonuses.
