- Develops and directs programs to maintain buildings, equipment and ground inclusive of appropriate preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Manages, monitors, verify and validate outsourced term contract services for repairs and preventive maintenance to ensure works are executed to the satisfactory requirement of the performance/outcome-based contracts.
- Analysis of causes of major and minor breakdown and facilities disruption by breakdown categorization and reflecting statistical trends for cause identification.
- Planning and implementation of ad hoc facility improvement or modification work at short notice.
- Review of energy use to achieve set target through Innovations Implementing comprehensive energy management programme via an effective monitoring of Building Automation System.
- Develops and directs programs to operate facilities and systems in a safe and efficient manner.
- Provides technical assistance to Building Managers in defining and evaluating Engineering requirements.
- Able to troubleshoot breakdowns and feedback from stakeholders. Provide timely updates back to them for closure.
- Monitors work plans to support SMU's mission and quality commitments; set performance targets and monitors them.
- Co-ordinate construction with contractors, architects, engineers and appropriate authorities. Provides support for all inspection and acceptance activities related to new construction.
- Ensures quality, timely completion and budget accuracy of projects.
- Attends, co-ordinates, designs, brief meetings of Facilities Planning within OCIS where necessary.
- Assists in works relating to FMS during emergencies e.g. infectious disease outbreak, major system/facilities breakdown etc.
- Works under broad guidelines and direction in accordance with professional standards and established policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Degree in Engineering discipline with at least 2 years' experience in managing building infrastructure.
- Diploma in Engineering with at least 5 years' experience in managing building infrastructure facilities.
- Demonstrated strong hands-on experience in managing Facilities and Building services and systems.
- Experience in managing M&E, air-conditioning, mechanical and building management/automation systems.
- Able to anticipate customer needs, change goals and direction quickly and multitask.
- Proven comfort and experience to interact effectively with customers and associates, both inside and outside of the organization
- Well versed in reviewing technical drawings and perform verification on site. Knowledge in Autocad in reviewing and performing necessary changes.
- Experience in performing testing and commissioning of M&E systems and exposure in performing take over of systems.
- Resourceful, good team player, result driven and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Have a keen and natural affinity for technology and innovation.
- Has an obvious safety mindset and displays good WSH behavior.
