- Conduct research on primary human cell types and organoids
- Conduct cell culture experiments including genetic manipulation (via CRISPR-Cas9-based editing & lentiviral transduction)
- Perform DNA, RNA and protein analyses using basic and advanced molecular biology techniques
- Prepare written reports and deliver oral presentations; liaise with various research groups within MBI and without
- Provide mentoring to Research Officers/ Interns within the lab
- A PhD in Life Sciences/ Biological Sciences or related fields, with a proven track record
- A strong background in molecular and cell biology techniques
- Extensive experience in cell culture and skills in tissue sectioning and staining (immunohistochemistry)
- Experience in genome editing, cloning and molecular biology technique (PCR, RT-PCR, western blotting etc.)
- Microscopy skills (ImageJ, quantitative Immunofluorescence microscopy)
- Knowledge of mechanobiology, senescence, DNA damage response pathways will be highly advantageous
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills; ability to prepare clear and concise presentations and reports
- Good organization and management skills
- Highly motivated; outstanding ablility to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent problem-solving skills
