As a Japan-originated, global company with our footprint in over 60 countries and regions, our mission is to provide essential and significant value to patients and society through our products and services created from our expertise in ophthalmology and from the patient’s perspective.Job DescriptionPOSITION PURPOSE:The Assistant Manager – Control Tower Execution & Report – Asia Region supports the SCM Asia Control Tower team in managing supply operations, inventory oversight, and KPI reporting. This role focuses on executing operational tasks, monitoring supply constraints, supporting escalation processes, and maintaining inventory accuracy across the region.The incumbent will collaborate with cross-functional teams (Planning, Logistics, QA/RA) to ensure timely product delivery, assist in preparing monthly reports, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. While not leading regional initiatives independently, the role will actively support their execution and provide analytical insights to drive operational excellence.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:The responsibilities can be categorized into the following main areas:Supply Constraint & Escalation Support
  • Monitor supply constraints and escalate issues to the Regional Manager as needed.
  • Drive resolution to minimize supply risks by identifying root causes and determine appropriate actions for mitigation.
  • Support cross-functional discussions to align priorities and mitigation actions.
  • Track inbound shipments and expedite supply when required.
  • Assist in preparing monthly out-of-stock reports and root cause summaries.
Inventory Management
  • Monitor inventory levels to meet service targets and coverage goals.
  • Support implementation of standardized inventory control procedures.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of inventory transactions across countries.
KPI Management & Reporting
  • Update and maintain KPI dashboards (PowerBI, Excel) for Asia SCM.
  • Assist in data extraction, validation, and reporting for monthly KPI reviews.
  • Provides analytical support for SCM initiatives and datasets to improve overall supply chain efficiency.
  • Support development of new trackers and reporting tools; including preparation of training materials and work instructions.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure KPI standardization across countries.
Process Improvements & Initiatives
  • Identify opportunities for process simplification and automation.
  • Support regional improvement projects led by senior team members.
  • Contribute documentation and training materials for new processes.
Ad-hoc Support
  • Participate in operational meetings and provide support for SCM initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Regional Manager.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of professional experience in supply chain operations or planning, with a strong preference for candidates from the healthcare/pharmaceutical sector.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of inventory planning methodologies, supply balancing techniques, and proficiency in SCM systems (SAP, Kinaxis).
  • Demonstrated capability in independently managing complex supply chain issues and orchestrating cross-functional resolution strategies.
  • In-depth understanding of supply chain key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational performance management principles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; working knowledge of PowerBI is highly advantageous.
  • Exceptional analytical capabilities, extensive business acumen, superior stakeholder management skills, and adept problem-solving abilities are essential.
  • Exemplary communication skills and a proven track record of effective cross-functional collaboration.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, proactive mindset, and the capacity to efficiently manage multiple high-priority tasks simultaneously are crucial for success in this role.
