The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) invites applications for the position of Research Associate.Key Responsibilities:Play an essential role in the conceptualization and design of the experimentsSelect the materials systems and structures to enhance the adhesion capability and adhesion switchability of the adhesive gripperEstablish the mechanics model of the adhesive metamaterial gripper for optimizationPreparation and integration of the smart gripper and adhesive filmExplore potential applications such as robotic griping and object sortingCollaborate with PhD students and visiting students working on the projectWrite paper and publish research results in internationally reputable journalsHelp supervise undergraduate FYP students and URECA studentsJob Requirements:Master’s degree in Mechanics or Mechanical EngineeringRich experience in experimentation and modeling of soft materialsRich experience in mechanics modeling of shape memory polymer adhesivesGood communication and writing skills in EnglishGood interpersonal skillsStrong responsibility for research workPublication track record is an advantageWe regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.Hiring Institution: NTU
