It is actively involved in onboarding key strategic accounts across all geographies and driving the key sales plan to achieve strategic goals.What the intern can learn during the internshipThe selected intern will help with various projects involving the FX & Rates business and operations. Examples will include: * Developing an in-depth understanding of FX market microstructure, marketplace and competitions
  • Data mining the daily trading volume and open interests, mapping for cross-selling opportunities
  • Regular weekly and monthly write-up of the FX market
  • Customer validation report for new and existing products
  • Monthly sales presentation material research
  • Competitive Analysis (spreads, volume)
  • Exposure to Sales and marketing through conferences and promotional events
  • Analysis of customer segments' trading patterns and behaviour
Job Description
  • Assist in market microstructure analysis and SWOT review of various FX products
  • Help with end of day Daily Settlement Price derivationHelp with the production of marketing material and pitch research
  • Assist with a weekly and monthly write-ups of Global macro drivers and FX market performance
  • Be actively involved in selected FX Sales and marketing events
  • Help with eDM distribution and SGX FX website publication and updates
  • Assist in preparing FX sales pipeline for a weekly business meeting
  • Helping in business analytics involving clients, geographies, products and performance
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
  • Detail-oriented, Good analytical skills
  • Good command of English and/or Mandarin will be useful
  • Good Excel skills (including power pivot), data and detail-oriented
  • VBA skills are preferable
  • Experience or working knowledge of Bloomberg, preferably including Bloomberg Excel tools
  • SQL skills will be useful although it is not a must
  • Interested in Global markets (FX and Rates and general macroeconomics)
  • Takes initiative

Job RequirementsShort overview on the TeamThe Equities - Derivatives Unit is one of the four operating segments under SGX Group with the rest being Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities; Equities - Cash; and Platforms and Others. The Unit is responsible for growing existing exchange-listed financial derivatives contracts revenue, liquidity and market share, as well as identifying and pursing opportunities to develop new revenue lines.The team is the revenue owner of SGX's flagship equity index derivatives business which covers well known products such as the Nikkei 225, Nifty 50, FTSE China A50, FTSE Taiwan, and MSCI Singapore futures contracts. The portfolio also includes products which are being groomed into the next flagship. Namely FTSE China H50, FTSE Blossom Japan and the MSCI Climate Action suite. Collectively, Equity - Derivatives contributes 27% of the FY2024 revenue.What the intern can learn during the internshipThe selected intern will learn about the market structure and mechanics of our suite of equity derivatives through developing a strong understanding of the business drivers and requirements.As an intern he/she is expected to work alongside market professionals, learning the skills and knowledge necessary to become an integral member of our product management team and acquire hands-on experience in supporting the launch of new products during the internship period, if any.Job Description
  • Perform market sizing, market trend, and competitive research and analysis through the collation of data from public sources and data services like Bloomberg and Refinitiv.
  • Create, maintain, and send internal management reports and presentations on product volumes, market share, profitability, client activity etc.
  • Generate in-depth product-specific market research and marketing materials to educate sophisticated customers and drive trading activity.
  • Assist in the launch of new listed equity derivatives products, across the entire exchange value-chain including business development, legal, compliance, regulatory, operations, technology etc.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
  • Knowledge of macroeconomics, financial markets and derivative instruments
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills in English
  • MUST be proficient in MS Office - Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • MUST be extremely detail oriented and meticulous and comfortable with large data sets
  • Experience in data analytics will be viewed favorably - knowledge in VBA preferred and Python, SQL advantageous
