Your core duty involves contributing to the growth and development of health social work in Alexandra Hospital. Besides direct practice, you will be building the department's Clinical Supervision and Education portfolios. You will participate in practice research and development of clinical social work.You will provide person-centred care with an understanding of the person in their own environment and working closely with formal and informal support networks to allow patients to be empowered in decisions they make or to work towards their wishes and wants.You would also be expected to build new community programmes though partnership with community stakeholders. Social work interventions may be based out of the hospital to anchor care in the community.You need to be proficient in carrying out crisis intervention duties which would require priority responses and intensive case management to patients going through personal crisis, including attempted suicide or are victims of abuse.You will be providing supervision to colleagues, take on administrative roles and lead projects at the department, institution and national level. You will also be looking into clinical and quality audits and standards.Medical disciplines you may work with: General Medicine, Renal Medicine, Rehab Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, Palliative Medicine and Psychological Medicine.Job Requirements:
- Degree in Social Work; Post Graduate Diploma in Social Work; Master's in Social Work.
- Post-graduate qualification in Counselling or Family Therapy will be an added advantage.
- Comfortable and competent in IT.
- Minimally bilingual. Conversant in dialects will also be helpful.
- All qualifying staff will need to be Registered Social Workers with the Singapore Association of Social Work.
