We aspire to become the leading center for music and health in Asia, pioneering the development of music-based methods and interventions to improve people's lives.Job DescriptionThe Centre for Music and Health (CMH) is inviting applications for the role of a full-time Research Assistant (RA). This role is a 1-year contract in the first instance and is subjected to satisfactory job performance, for renewal. The RA will contribute to a project in which our CMH team, in collaboration with external partners, will be developing an Arts/Heritage and Health Evaluation Toolkit (AHET). The toolkit will provide tools and scales that may be used by artist and musician practitioners, as well as community/government stakeholders, to evaluate the impact of arts and heritage activities on health and well-being. The RA will be involved in literature reviews, manuscript writing, the publication process, and the development and design of the actual digital AHET. The RA would also assist with an online workshop, as well as the public launch of the toolkit. The RA may also be invited to liaise with community stakeholders to help with the dissemination and use of the toolkit.Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Conduct literature reviews, systematically synthesize and distill information, contribute to manuscript writing
  • Assist with creation of an Arts/Heritage and Health Evaluation Toolkit (AHET)
  • Reach out to and work with community and government stakeholders, artist and musician practitioners and arts/heritage organizations
  • Assist with workshop, AHET launch, and dissemination of AHET
  • Assist in developing content for AHET website
  • Oversee training of CMH Student Assistants, Volunteers, and Research Interns as needed
  • Assist with writing up, communicating and disseminating findings/results (in conferences, popular science forums, blogs, social media, etc) as appropriate
Qualifications
  • A recognised degree in Psychology, Public Health, Medicine, or another area of relevance to Arts/Heritage or Health/Wellbeing
  • At least 1 year of prior research experience
  • Excellent English speaking and writing skills, and academic/research abilities
  • Some background experience in arts/heritage and/or health-related areas is strongly desired
  • Experience with empirical research experimental design, data collection and analysis is strongly desired
  • Good organisational skills, and able to juggle multiple tasks concurrently
  • Able to work independently, but also a good team player.
  • Adaptable and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
