This role reports to the Director of Finance and plays a key role in developing Hospital Financial Budgets and Forecasts, and delivering financial and management information to support strategic decision-making. The incumbent will lead efforts to optimise financial performance, ensure compliance with policies, and work closely with departments to drive productivity and operational effectiveness. Leadership experience and a strong background in healthcare finance are essential.Job Description
  • Work within a team of finance staff to develop Hospital Financial Budgets and Forecasts and to optimise performance and provide timely, relevant, and meaningful financial and management information (e.g., financial performance by departments).
  • Support strategic decision-making through accurate reporting and insights.
  • Develop and implement procedures and controls aligned with established management and regulatory policies.
  • Implement new reporting, management information systems, enhance/expand systems and processes to better support the Management Information function.
  • Partner with departments to drive performance improvements and enhance productivity.
  • Provide financial oversight across various activities, including but not limited to:
  • Review of financial and operational information for approvals and post-implementation reviews
  • Regular updates of service pricing
  • Review and approval of purchases in accordance with established authorisation policies and procedures.
  • Assist in any projects / other duties as assigned by the Supervisor / Head of Department
Job Requirements
  • Degree in Accountancy or Finance, or a recognised professional qualification in accountancy.
  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience, including a minimum of 4 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Proven ability to manage teams and build strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience in healthcare or manufacturing industries is preferred.
  • Strong quantitative skills.
  • Basic knowledge of data science techniques and concepts, with an understanding of their application in a finance context, is advantageous.
