[What the role is] The lecturer will be responsible for developing and delivering modules under the Diploma in Biological Sciences and will also contribute to applied science research projects. The candidate should possess strong academic and hands-on expertise in protein biochemistry, particularly in protein purification, immunological assays, and the structure-function relationships of proteins.[What you will be working on]
  • Teach relevant subjects in pre-employment and continuing education training programmes
  • Design and develop course materials for pre-employment and continuing education training programmes
  • Lead consultancy and research projects
  • Supervise and coach students for projects and extracurricular activities (e.g. workshops, competitions)
  • Mentor and assist in tracking students’ academic and non-academic performance
  • Partake in administrative duties related to the diploma course or within the school and public service
  • Deliver planned curriculum to adult learners on scheduled weekday evenings or on weekends and participate in assessment activities
  • Establish strong industry links and exposure, with experience in related sectors
  • To engage in technical capability development of related laboratories in the school
[What we are looking for]Candidates should possess the following:
  • Relevant qualifications in biological sciences, biochemistry, molecular biology or its equivalent disciplines
  • At least three years of relevant industry or research experience in protein purification, characterisation, and biochemical methods for analysing protein structure and function.
  • Knowledge of fermentation technologies and protein production will be advantageous.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with academic peers and industry partners on applied research, training, or innovation projects
  • Proficient in IT, planning and organisation skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to student-centered learning
