Job FunctionBusiness DevelopmentJob SummaryThe Assistant/Deputy Manager - Business Development is responsible for business development, managing large key accounts, marketing, sales of both broad-based and niche logistics services including performing market research, prospecting, developing relationships with potential customers and meeting sales targets.
He/she is required to develop complex logistics solutions and to convince customers to adopt solutions proposed, including material sourcing, solutioning and prices of solutions. He/she is responsible for managing relationships with logistics operations managers and project logistics resources including manpower, internal assets and external vendors.
Resourceful and analytical, he/she is required to manage resources, including manpower and obtain buy-in from internal and external stakeholders. He/she is also expected to lead teams effectively.Job Responsibilities/Key Tasks(External)
  • Collaborate with key account managers to identify new businesses and grow relationships that assist in revenue generation within assigned verticals.
  • Develop vertical business plans to grow the markets of vertical sectors.
  • Manage teams in the workplace.
  • Develop sales proposals/tender documents.
  • Communicate data-driven insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Optimise use of allocated resources within business activities.
  • Develop intervention strategies to mitigate gaps in delivery of logistics services.
  • Review different aspects of project management based on priorities and needs.
  • Develop integrated project plans that include scope and resources required.
  • Manage stakeholders to monitor completion of requirements and activities.
  • Develop co-created solutions with customers to enhance offerings and competitiveness.
  • Develop intervention strategies to mitigate gaps in delivery of logistics services.
  • Develop solutions to address gaps and weaknesses in supply chain operations.
  • Develop solutions to address gaps and weaknesses in supply chain operations.
  • Integrate technology solutions and automations to replace inefficient processes.
Job RequirementsProfessional Qualifications & Relevant Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent professional qualifications) with at least 4 years of relevant experience in sales and business development.
  • Diploma with at least 6 years of relevant experience in sales and business development.
