The job of an academic is challenging and meaningful. Not only will he/she have both the knowledge and skillsets, he/she must also possess a passion for working with youths, nurturing them and moulding their characters. There will be opportunities to develop the curriculum, introduce new courses as well as be involved in consultancy and other applied research projects under SP-Advanced Manufacturing Centre. Administrative work related to teaching and School/Institutional strategic initiatives will be an important part of the job too. Successful candidates will be expected to be resourceful and innovative with initiative and good communication skills.The appointee must be competent and willing to introduce innovative ways to teach the following subjects:
  • Industrial AI & Machine Learning
  • Machine Learning in Python
  • Python programming
  • Mechanics
  • Thermofluids
Responsibilities:
  • Develop modules and conduct both industry-relevant full-time and part-time courses to internal stakeholders, students and industry personnel.
  • Inspire, facilitate and guide students through effective teaching and learning activities.
  • Serve as a personal tutor/mentor providing pastoral care for students.
  • Collaborate with industry to enhance students’ learning through activities such as industry learning journeys, student-industry projects, internship program and overseas programme.
  • Engage industry pro-actively through collaborations and projects leveraging Industrial AI and machine learning for the digital transformation of manufacturing.
  • Provide administrative support in the running of the diploma course and general school operations.
Requirements:-
  • Relevant qualification in the field of Mechanical, Mechatronic or Aeronautical Engineering.
  • Relevant skillsets/knowledge/work experience in the areas of industrial AI & machine learning, generative AI tools, cloud tools (Azure), and Python programming & libraries for advanced manufacturing will be an added advantage.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-driven, independent and a team player.
  • Proactive individual who enjoys interacting with both students and stakeholders.
  • Passionate about education and possess strong interest in teaching and mentoring both young adults and adult learners.
