As Director of Business Development, you will be at the forefront of shaping Singapore's cross-border energy landscape. Drawing on your expertise in commercial strategy and stakeholder engagement, you will identify, evaluate, and deliver large-scale regional power infrastructure projects. Your leadership will be instrumental in forging key commercial agreements, building robust partnerships, and advancing Singapore's clean energy ambitions through innovative and sustainable energy solutions.The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
  • Lead the end-to-end development and closure of complex commercial agreements for electricity import and transmission
  • Manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary deal teams (legal, technical, financial, regulatory)
  • Negotiate terms with utilities, governments, private off-takers, and international partners
  • Develop commercial models, strategies, and value propositions for new projects and opportunities
  • Support the broader corporate strategy and business development pipeline
  • Engage with high-level stakeholders, including regulators, transmission system operators (TSOs), and policymakers
  • Represent the company in commercial discussions, public consultations, and industry forums
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial risks associated with projects and partnerships
  • Ensure all deals are compliant with internal governance standards and external regulatory requirements
  • Build and manage a high-performing commercial team over time, including mentoring junior team members and fostering cross-functional collaboration
The successful candidate should possess the following:
  • More than 10 years of relevant experience in project finance, M&A advisory for the energy infrastructure, renewable energy or utilities sectors
  • Proven commercial deal making track record, preferably including Southeast Asian projects
  • Deep understanding of energy markets, transmission regulations, and commercial contracting (e.g., Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), PTAs, capacity agreements)
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Deep familiarity with financing models for major capital projects (e.g., project finance, regulated asset base)
  • Capable of training a central pool of associates focused on financial / project modelling that will be supporting each of our commercial teams
