Job DescriptionWe invite highly motivated, dynamic professionals to join our growing insurance advisory service in Singapore to work with a variety of local and global (re) insurers on their operation / technology transformation journeys. We are looking to expand our fast-growing insurance advisory services in Singapore and are looking for self-motivated candidates that will play a significant role in driving the continued growth of our insurance advisory practice.The ideal candidate should have worked in either an insurance sector or in a consulting firm having experience in Operations / Tech transformation role including experience of:
  • Design or building of IT Strategy, Operating Model, Application Rationalization and Architecture
  • Programme management support for insurance finance change
Responsibilities:This dynamic role, to join a growing and developing team, involves (at a high-level):
  • Developing KPMG's insurance technology practice to take to market
  • Developing project methods and providing necessary visibility into activities and deliverables at each stage of the project to all relevant stakeholders
  • Developing a detailed project plan to track progress; create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Using appropriate tracking techniques to monitor all requirements and manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
  • Monitoring and managing project risks/issues and recommending suitable Mitigation, Preventive, Corrective, Containment actions to minimise impact
  • Tracking and managing all dependencies and decisions that could influence the outcome of the project
  • Periodic reporting of project status to external and internal stakeholders at various levels
  • Escalation management and bringing the most important issues to the fore both with client leadership and internal leadership
  • Building and managing the relationship with the client and internal stakeholders
  • Coordinating with client and internal stakeholder/third parties/vendors in connection with support/actions required for the execution of projects
Requirements:
  • Ability to support the business development cycle
  • Strong academic background in the field of computer science or engineering or finance
  • Proven working experience in the role of Engagement Manager for Technology projects and working knowledge of related technologies including ERP, Digital Technologies, Low code platforms, Cloud solutions, etc
  • Expert level understanding of any one technology and/or Insurance sector
  • Have a sound understanding of insurance IT, operations, data, systems and processes
  • Experience of having worked with distributed teams / Remote delivery models
  • Experience in IT Strategy Development by assisting clients in developing a technology strategy and roadmap that aligns with and supports their key business priorities, unlocking business value
  • Assist in developing IT Operating Model by Support senior IT leadership or business sponsor in developing an IT Operating Model, outlining the strategic aims of the organization, defining the various components of the IT function (e.g. roles, governance, processes, controls, and tools)
  • Experienced with application Rationalization and Architecture, closely work with clients to assess the application landscape and define the target state architecture and platform roadmaps to deliver business objectives. Identify how the next gen technologies can be deployed to deliver their value proposition
  • Assisting in IT Transformation by Shaping client's major IT Transformation program and running the Transformation Office to deliver business and technology initiatives
  • Good understanding or hands-on experience in software development life cycle and various implementation methodologies
  • Numerate, with a solid grasp of financial performance analysis in the Financial/ Insurance industry
  • Have hands-on experience in both design and implementation with the ability to articulate best practices and drive workshops
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good management skills including both task management and people management
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications like Excel, Word and PowerPoint
