What the role is:Our team gathers international investment statistics through comprehensive surveys and utilisation of diverse data sources. Given the substantial volume of data collected, we require robust data processing systems to produce timely and accurate statistics.What you will be working on:In this role, you will collaborate with our data team to: - Design and implement end-to-end data pipelines that transform raw investment data into meaningful statistics, ensuring efficiency and data quality throughout the process - Review and optimise existing data processing workflows to enhance productivity and reduce manual intervention - Create comprehensive documentation for data models, pipelines, and processing logic to ensure maintainability This hands-on position offers unique exposure to both technical and domain expertise. You'll gain practical experience in data engineering whilst developing a thorough understanding of how investment statistics are collected, processed, and utilised by stakeholders.What we are looking for:- Strong data analytics skills with Python programming experience - Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT processes - Proven ability to break down complex problems and design systematic solutions - Interest in International Investment statistics - Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving capabilities - Clear communication skills, particularly in explaining technical concepts - Proactive learner with enthusiasm for new technologies and methodologies Preferred Discipline : Undergraduates from Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or related fields Internship Duration: 6 months (Jan-Jun 2026)About Department of Statistics:The Singapore Department of Statistics is the National Statistical Authority responsible for statistics on the Singapore economy and population.
