Job DescriptionThe Quantum Engineering Programme (QEP) funds research and supports ecosystem building to bring quantum technologies to solve the challenges of end-users. Its work span quantum sensing, quantum communication and security and quantum computing. Launched in 2018, it supports translational research focused on industry
challenges and initiatives to nurture a quantum ecosystem. Coordinated nationally across various research organisations, it is supported by the National Research Foundation, Singapore and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research, Singapore and hosted by the National University of Singapore.Responsibilities
The Senior Manager / Manager for QEPO will:
1) Develop an understanding of the quantum companies priorities, market demand, industry needs for key sectors under the SNDE and MTC domains, aligned with national strategies/ plans for quantum.
2) Work alongside public research performers (i.e. IHLs and A*STAR RIs) in QEP quantum platforms with the relevant competencies and capabilities to address national and industry needs.
3) Understand and leverage I&E competencies and resources (e.g. funding initiatives and test-bedding /deployment opportunities) of various agencies to advance technology development and translation efforts for QEPO.
4) Identify challenges which may hinder science and technology development and translation efforts for quantum domain, and where necessary, surface these issues to relevant authorities for intervention or resolution.You can expect a diverse and varied career, developing skills in areas such as account management, business development, marketing, IP management and licensing, project management, technology innovation and ecosystem development.
Individuals who are keen to apply science and technology to create impact on our economy and society, and who can handle the diversity and complexity of the business, government and research worlds, will find a good fit with this role.Qualifications∙ At least 2 years (preferably 5 years) of working experience in business and technology development (preferable quantum field), in either public or private entity.
∙ Able to identify and contextualise stakeholder issues and manage them appropriately.
∙ Able to draft, discuss and finalize RCA (Research Collaboration Agreement) with industry collaborator and PI (Principal Investigators)/Researchers.
∙ Build, develop and promote strong, long-lasting relationships with stakeholders and industry (both MNC and local companies) by partnering them and understanding their needs.
∙ Passion to influence, to collaborate/ partner and transform start-ups and SMEs.
∙ Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organisation.
∙ Strong business sense and industry expertise.
∙ Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
∙ Willing, adaptable and flexible to take on additional tasks beyond the job description.
