- Assess the safety, reliability, and performance of electrical systems for offshore applications, including floating nuclear power plants, floating data centers, floating substations, offshore wind farms, and FPSO/FLNG topsides.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, such as renewable energy integration, microgrids, and energy storage solutions, to ensure compliance with classification society rules and international standards.
- Conduct technical analyses and simulations to verify the feasibility and robustness of electrical systems under various environmental and operational conditions.
- Contribute to the development of new rules, standards, and guidelines for offshore electrification technologies.
- Collaborate with industry stakeholders to identify gaps in current standards and propose solutions to address emerging technologies.
- Ensure all evaluations align with existing classification society rules, international standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical expertise to support the integration of electrical systems for offshore platforms.
- Analyze challenges unique to offshore wind farms, floating substations, and FPSO/FLNG topsides, such as grid connection, dynamic cable systems, and harsh environmental conditions.
- Review and validate technical specifications and design criteria provided by industry stakeholders.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as industry partners, academic institutions, and regulatory bodies, to advance offshore electrification technologies.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and publications to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, including generation, distribution, and storage.
- Experience with modeling and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, ETAP, PSCAD).
- Familiarity with offshore and marine environments, including floating structures and harsh conditions.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, such as IEC, IEEE, and classification society rules.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with offshore wind farm electrical systems, including grid connection and energy storage.
- Knowledge of renewable energy systems, microgrids, and energy storage technologies.
- Familiarity with FPSO and FLNG topside electrification challenges and solutions.
- Experience with nuclear power systems, data center electrification, or floating substations.
- Prior experience in R&D or innovation projects. office support staff.
