
Business Risk Specialist (KYC)

- Drive and manage risk remediation projects including NFRI and MLSI, with a focus on KYC/AML taxonomy topics, working with stakeholders across Operating Head, BRO, CORC and GWM APAC.
- Perform thematic reviews and read across of risk topics.
- Support the OH teams to complete Risk Framework activities including Taxonomy Risk Assessments, Governance Reporting and Senior Management updates
- Perform analysis across control results and other data points to identify deficiencies and required improvements, feeding into control and process design and feedback to impacted stakeholders and team to develop continuous lessons learnt and improvement
- Work closely with stakeholders for the completion of NFRI and MLSI type items, providing challenge to solutions and closure pack materials to ensure that robust solutions have been implemented and the risk has been mitigated to acceptable levels.
- Provide advice and solutions regarding due diligence, KYC standards, internal policies, procedures, and local regulations.
- Strong stakeholder management with Front Office, Compliance, GWM Business Risk and other stakeholders with appropriate escalation.
- Proven track record in driving KYC topics with commercial risk-based solutions.
- Experience in delivering timely remediation in accordance with project timelines.
- Highlight deficiencies, suspicious AML or other non-compliance issues to relevant parties and management.
- Identify and assess resulting ML/TF risks with respect to regulatory requirement as well as Group AML/CFT policy and procedures.
- Support Internal/External audit, compliance testing and other supervisory visits as appropriate.

We are comprised of Risk Assessment & Framework teams, and KPCi Control Testing teams. We work as part of the first line of defense in preventing money laundering, corruption and the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT). The team provides expert guidance to OH teams and Senior Management in all KYC and Operational Risk matters. In addition, works closely with Group Compliance on specific AML/KYC policy and procedures as well as client risk profiling related matters..Your expertise
- Strong KYC/AML expertise in Wealth Management
- Bachelor's degree with at least 10+ years of working experience in KYC/AML areas, risk or controls functions, audit functions, preferably in Wealth Management.
- Familiar with regulatory requirements pertaining to KYC/AML, e.g., MAS 626.
- Ability to be client centric while balancing business needs and controls.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to manage relationships with Front Office stakeholders.
- An efficient solutions provider with strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated, independent, strong sense of ownership with ability to work in a team environment.
- An excellent spoken and written knowledge of English & optional for Mandarin
- Certifications in AML such as Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or International Association Diploma in Anti Money Laundering would be an advantage but not essential.
