Maintenance Technician (Waste Water Treatment Plant)

- Ensure to monitor the PH level falls within the range of 6-9 as per stipulated by NEA by observing the necessary dosage of the Weidner treatment plant and the proper function of the PH indicator and alarm system.
- Ensure to monitor the COD level not to exceed 600 as per stipulated by NEA. Conduct test on waste water samples collected from the discharge outlet of the carbon filtration tank after each round of tank cleaning.
- Ensure to report to the Chief Supervisor and the Operations Manager on irregularities of the COD and PH readings for appropriate cargo cleaning mixture.
- Ensure half of the activated cargo is replaced when COD level reaches 500. Continue to observe new instructions over the time of improvement to keep PH & COD level acceptable by NEA.
- Ensure to be present at the water treatment plant area during working hours even when performing equipment service and repair.
- Make sure the automatic switches for the air pumps function daily. Ensure the air pumps are turned on from Mon-Fri 1hr before end of the day in Pit 1 & Pit 6 to allow particles and odour to settle down to the bottom of the pits during the day.
- Keep proper monthly inventory on spare parts for the service and maintenance of tools and equipment including COD reactor. Ensure to keep sufficient stock for water treatment plant maintenance such as dosage chemicals, activated carbon, COD cell test chemical, PH test paper, PH recording paper, and make timely requests on materials replenishment.
- Ensure to observe all safety precautions at work and mee t OHSE management requirement.
- Ensure no leakage of the pipelines, hoses and connections at the work site (including the recycle water tanks, hot water tank, water storage tank for hydro test and sludge tank) and no flood in the area.
- Liaise with NEA officer on sample collection and the treated waste water discharge matters. Report to the Operations Manager on the outcome of each NEA officer's visit.
- GCE 'O' Levels
- Work at Height certificate
- Manhole Entry certificate
- At least 1 to 2 years of working experience in the related field
- Experience in waste water treatment and pump maintenance
- Experience in performing electrical and mechanical maintenance
- Possess good work discipline
- Work location : Jurong Island (company transport is provided at designated pickup point)
- A full-time and permanent role
- Working Hours: 5 days' work week (Mon-Fri) 8.30am to 5.30pm with rest day on Sundays
