The Synthetic Biology TRP seeks to repurpose synthetic biology for positive clinical impact, specifically by developing therapeutic cells against human disease, enhancing the functional living of human beings, and promoting planetary health.The Research Fellow (RF) will work closely with the Principal Investigator and the research team to develop microbial biosensors and live therapeutics. Appointments will be initially made on a 1-year contract, with the possibility of extension.Responsibilities: * Design synthetic genetic circuits and engineer microbial strains for biosensor and therapeutic applications;
- Develop and apply high-throughput strain engineering and screening workflows to optimize genetic constructs and characterize strain libraries;
- Mentor research assistants, graduate, and undergraduate students;
- Assist in any other duties delegated by the Principal Investigator and group leaders.
- Possess strong hands-on experience in genetic circuit design, microbial strain engineering, and molecular biology techniques;
- Be proficient in designing and conducting experiments involving gene and protein expression, microbial cultivation, and data analysis;
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a high level of scientific rigor and attention to detail;
- Have a track record of publications in reputable international journals.
- Familiarity with biosensor development or live microbial therapeutics.
