Job Description:
  • Assist in coordinating and monitoring the movement of cargo through the port, ensuring compliance with operational timelines, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a key contact point for freight-related stakeholders including shipping lines, freight forwarders, transporters, and cargo owners to ensure smooth logistics flow.
  • Support the verification and processing of shipping documents such as Bills of Lading, cargo manifests, delivery orders, and customs declarations.
  • Facilitate collaboration between various entities within the port ecosystem— customs, terminal operators, transport providers—to improve cargo handling efficiency.
  • Identify and help resolve operational bottlenecks, container congestion, and freight delivery delays in a timely and effective manner.
  • Collect and analyse data on cargo volumes, turnaround times, and delivery performance to support strategic decision-making and reporting.
  • Support the implementation and usage of digital freight platforms (e.g., Port Community Systems, tracking tools), assisting users and resolving basic technical issues.
  • Ensure adherence to port regulations, freight handling standards, and environmental guidelines across freight-related operations.
  • Participate in projects aimed at optimizing freight logistics processes, reducing dwell time, and enhancing end-to-end cargo visibility.
  • Stay informed on freight trends, trade flows, and regional supply chain developments to contribute to port competitiveness and freight ecosystem strategy.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Logistics/ Supply Chain Management. Other disciplines with experience in logistics operations management preferable in 3rd party logistics, distribution or manufacturing environment will also be considered.
