
Intern, Multimodal Sensing for Smart Home Applications

- Collaborate with product owners and cross-functional team members in conducting research and implementing machine learning models in the smart home living space, focusing on food preparation and home wellbeing domains.
- Develop innovative solutions that combine, analyze, and interpret complex text, audio, and visual datasets in discrete and time-series format to enhance user interactions and experiences in smart home applications.
- Create smart home applications that leverage information fusion and multimodal sensing technologies.
- Integrate embedded sensor hardware and optimize the system for seamless device communication network.
- Support team members and perform experimental design using customized apparatus.
- Undergraduate or Postgraduate studies in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience in ML frameworks (e.g., Hugging Face Transformers, Tensorflow), computer science, and data analysis.
- Familiarity with multimodal sensing technologies, including audio and visual processing and time series analysis.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
- Understanding of and ability to deploy Internet of Things (IoT) devices, communication protocols (I2C, SPI, and USB), embedded systems, and environment sensors.
- Ability to propose and develop machine learning algorithms or black-box modeling techniques to conduct sensor data analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot and optimize system performance.
