These GDS require complex coordination of large volumes of professional learning. This position is the departmental lead for the GDS delivery, requiring a high level of collaboration within the department and with the Business Development, Government Partnerships, IBEN, IBWS, and Authorization teams to anticipate needs and plan accordingly.South Korea is a GDS that has shown extremely high growth and demand for professional development. The demand is so high that a unique country-specific strategy for professional development delivery is required. This role will prototype and explore tactics to increase the scale and localization of PL Delivery. It will also be responsible for ensuring the PD offerings correspond to the schools needs and offers consistent quality. They will establish and oversee provider(s) serving the Korean market as well as plan IB delivered scheduled events. They will work in collaboration with the Requested Business AM to support the planning of requested events in the country. They will represent PDD in collaborations with other departments to develop and implement holistic solutions to this market's unique needs.Responsibilities:Key Responsibilities
Coordinate the delivery of all Professional Development in South Korea and key GDS customers in the Asia Pacific region. This will be done through collaboration with PD Delivery and with other departments.
Participate, assess and implement initiatives from Local Prototype working group for S. Korea and East Africa in the first year.
Through collaboration with marketing, ensure budgeted enrolment targets are met for assigned markets and key accounts.
In collaboration with the AP Regional Business Manager, complete the annual scheduling process for scheduled events ensuring the offer aligns to schools needs.
Liaisons with other departments, schools and GDS to collect feedback about training needs in assigned geographic areas.
Leads the bidding and award process for assigned PD providers.
Responsible for a positive and productive working relationship with assigned PD Providers ensuring timelines and deliverables as outlined in the contract are met.
Collaborates with, and provides guidance to, other departments such as IBEN, Legal and Finance in the day to day management of events.
Keeps all assigned PD provider related documents such as policies, guidelines, agreements, amendments, process documents (SOP), and term & conditions updated.
Provides accurate and timely reporting.
Serve as tier 2 support for IB Answers, ensuring SLA is adhered to.
Qualifications:About you
Bachelor's degree level or equivalent experience.
Have the right to work in Korea (citizen or PR).
Prior or existing work experience in the education industry is advantageous.
Experience working in an international environment a plus.
Excellent English oral and written skills.
Fluency in Korean required.
Excellent organizational skills.
Experience of training colleagues and stakeholders.
Significant experience in vendor management and/or demand analysis.
Demonstrable professional experience in an education environment.
Demonstrable experience in processes.
Understanding of the Korean education sector or IB is an asset.
