What the role is:You will be involved in the setting up of an employee wellness program in the department. This includes providing and sourcing for mental health resources and educational materials to support employees' mental health and wellness. You will draw on your expertise in psychological assessments and current trends on mental wellness to promote and manage the psychological health of employees. You may also be working with a team of psychologists to use psychological principles, tools, and operational research to meet various assessment objectives and organisational needs.What you will be working on:You will design and implement a mental well-being program that is aligned with industry best practices to enhance the overall psychological well-being within the department. This includes awareness campaigns, encouraging help-seeking behaviour and promoting the use of psychological support services. Critically, you will be required to provide confidential counselling services to staff and deliver basic psychological interventions to help employees cope with stress, anxiety, depression and other psychosocial issues that may affect their work performance and personal life. You will also conduct risk assessments and further develop psychological resilience programs. Occasionally, you may be involved in research design, analyses and interpretation to support the department's operations and psychological research efforts.What we are looking for:You should have a postgraduate degree or qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology. You should have a minimum of 2 years' experience in psychological assessment in one of the following settings: hospital, clinical work or workplace. You should have the ability to assess cognitive, behavioural, emotional, and interpersonal functioning, and to integrate and synthesize test data with observations, interviews, and other data sources. You should be skilled in at least one psychotherapy approach - e.g. CBT, Schema Therapy, Emotion-focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. You should also possess strong writing and verbal communication skills.About Military Security Department:The Military Security Department (MSD)'s core business is in Counter Intelligence and internal security for MINDEF/SAF. MSD was formed in 1975 to counter the threats of espionage, subversion and sabotage against MINDEF/SAF. It began with two main entities, namely the Counter Intelligence Branch (CIB) and Field Security Branch (FSB). Over the years, the department has continued to evolve and our roles expanded in tandem with the changing security environment. Today, our roles also include Counter Terrorism and Cyber Security.
