- Design and implement robust database administration solutions, including:
- Resource management, security, backup and recovery strategies
- Performance monitoring and tuning
- Data management and capacity planning
- Multi-threading and parallelism techniques
- Failover planning and implementation between database instances
- Provide architectural oversight for new implementations, environment changes, and client- or audit-driven recommendations.
- Contribute to automation initiatives across design, development, and deployment stages.
- Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation to support architectural and operational processes.
- Share domain knowledge and provide technical mentorship and cross-training to team members.
- Collaborate with development teams on complex query tuning and schema optimization.
- Participate in new implementation projects, including preparing pre-implementation plans for both internal and external rollouts.
- Independently analyze and resolve real-time production issues, ensuring end-to-end problem resolution.
- Apply effective data modeling techniques to ensure solutions meet integration, scalability, and performance benchmarks.
- Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Database Administrator with a strong foundation in Oracle and at least one additional RDBMS.
- Proven experience in installation, administration, and troubleshooting of Linux (RedHat, Fedora, CentOS) and Windows Server environments.
- Hands-on experience in database development, including writing functions, stored procedures, triggers, and other database programming constructs.
- Must have working experience with Oracle RAC and Data Guard.
- Strong expertise in performance tuning and optimization for high-volume database applications.
- In-depth architectural knowledge of Oracle database engines.
- Solid understanding of backup and restore processes, recovery models, clustering, database mirroring, and replication strategies.
- Ability to proactively identify and troubleshoot Oracle Server-related resource issues (CPU, memory, I/O, disk space).
- Exposure to OLAP modeling, star schemas, and large-scale data warehousing is a plus.
