
Research Scientist (6-month contract), SCIS

- Design, implement, and iteratively improve the three core imSAM components within a unified 3D medical-image framework.
- Generate large-scale synthetic MRI, CT, and X-ray datasets; coordinate secure access to real clinical data; and enforce data-privacy protocols and anonymization standards.
- Plan rigorous ablation studies and cross-modality benchmarks, assessing generalization across organs (e.g., liver, tumor, kidney) and imaging modalities; track performance metrics and error analysis for both common and rare conditions.
- Interface with radiologists and surgeons to collect expert prompts, refine interactive workflows, and translate feedback into model or UI improvements that enhance real-time segmentation usability.
- Lead paper preparation, conference presentations, open-source releases, and assist the PI with progress reports, grant milestones, and future funding proposals linked to imSAM's roadmap.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum PhD degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or closely related disciplines from a reputable institution of higher learning; with particular focus on deep-learning based AI techresearch.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant research experience in deep learning, multimodal data processing (especially visualdata processing), and domain generalization.
- Proficiency in programming software/languages such as PyTorch and TensorFlow will be positively considered/ is required
- Proven track record and professional experience in deep learning and computer vision
- Demonstrated experience and know-how on interactive AI techniques in multi-modality data
- Ability to break down complex problems and design effective solutions
- Innovating new approaches and thinking outside the box
- Applicants with research publications in machine learning and computer vision areas will be advantageous
- Ability to work cooperatively as part of a small, agile academic research team is essential.
