Job Scope
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues, as well as repair electrical systems and components onboard marine vessels.
  • Perform workshop-based testing and calibration of gas detection equipment.
  • Coordinate and supervise external vendors or contractors when required.
  • Assist ship crew and Superintendent in identifying and ordering the correct spare parts.
  • Compile and submit detailed service reports upon completion of tasks.
Requirements
  • Possess at least a Higher Nitec or Diploma in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Skilled in reading and understanding electrical circuit diagrams.
  • Solid knowledge of shipboard electrical systems including:
o Engine monitoring and control systems
o Fire alarm and detection systems
o CO2 and water mist fire suppression systems
o Oil discharge monitoring equipment / Oily Water Separator
o Ballast Water Treatment Systems
o Cargo system monitoring solutions * Minimum of 1 year of working experience as a Marine Service Engineer.
  • Flexible to work on short notice, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Able to carry out tasks both at anchorage and in shipyards.
  • Comfortable adapting to diverse and evolving work environments.
  • Motivated to learn and develop new product knowledge and technical expertise.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and professionalism.
  • Capable of working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Able to manage interactions and situations with ship crew efficiently.
  • Proficient in using business computers and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
