Who we are looking forWe are looking for an individual with a proven track record of high performance and an ability to build relationships and influence decision makers. As a part of our Alpha sales team, the ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be prepared to ‘carry a room’ filled with senior executives from the asset management industry. The candidate will be expected to understand the CEO agenda at our clients and convey the value of our Alpha Platform in the context of our client’s strategic ambitions and pain points. Extensive industry and product experience will enable this candidate to target new prospects in the asset manager, asset owner, insurance and/or official institution segments. However, given the breadth of the Alpha platform we do not expect candidates to know the entire value chain on day one: this role will require constant learning as the platform evolves and as no two prospects are the same, so a proven ability to learn quickly and confidence putting new knowledge to work is essential to succeeding in the role. Based from a key location in the APAC, this role will have responsibility for all clients in the region and as such will travel extensively within the region.Join us if making your mark in the financial services industry from day one is a challenge you are up for.What you will be responsible forThe team you will be joining is a part of State Street Institutional Services and the Sales Team. As Alpha Sales Lead, you will have primary responsibility for driving the execution of Institutional Services sales strategy for Alpha segment within the APAC. This is a new business sales role, requiring you to deeply understand the C-suite agenda at our prospects, refine our value prop to fit that agenda, design target operating models, build prospect relationships, manage the sales process and close deals that generate new revenue for the company.What we valueThese skills will help you succeed in this roleProven track record of high-performance in previous roles, regardless of function or industry (e.g. rapid promotions, tangible outcomes and achievements)Demonstrated ability to interact and build relationships with senior executivesProven ability to articulate a value proposition and sell to clients / prospectsAbility to work within a collaborative environment to achieve results, including management of complex teams with or without direct reporting linesDemonstrated track record of independence and ability to self-start, including rapidly coming up to speed with complex concepts and immediately putting that knowledge to useBroad understanding of the investment management value chain and technology / services competitor set from front-to-back and/or deep understanding of a subset of the value chainExcellent written and verbal skills along with a high level of professionalismExcellent time management and presentation skillsEducation & Preferred QualificationsBA/BS degree, Masters degree (or equivalent) preferred10+ years experience in financial services, ideally asset management or adjacent industriesThis position will require business travelAbout State StreetWhat we do.
