
CLUSTER ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

- Partner with the Cluster Director of Finance to shape financial strategy and ensure alignment with Accor and ownership goals.
- Lead ROI analysis for capital expenditures and support feasibility studies for new initiatives.
- Review and negotiate contracts in the absence of the Cluster Director, ensuring financial protection and favuorable terms.
- Ensure all licenses, permits, and insurance policies are current and compliant with the Management Agreement.
- Prepare and analyse monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) with commentary on variances and trends.
- Submit detailed month-end packages to Sofitel AP and ownership, including credit analysis and cash flow forecasts.
- Certify accuracy of internal and external financial reports before distribution.
- Maintain documentation to support all balance sheet accounts and ensure audit readiness.
- Assist in preparing the hotel's annual operating budget and rolling forecasts.
- Collaborate with department heads to develop realistic and strategic departmental budgets.
- Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis with actionable recommendations.
- Design and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard assets and ensure policy compliance.
- Conduct regular internal audits and support external audits with timely documentation and responses.
- Ensure compliance with local tax laws, including GST and corporate tax filings.
- Monitor bank reconciliations, cash flow projections, and petty cash management.
- Oversee financial systems (e.g., accounting software, POS integration) to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Lead system upgrades or transitions, ensuring minimal disruption and full staff training.
- Implement process improvements to streamline reporting, reconciliation, and procurement workflows.
- Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance reviews, set development goals, and provide coaching where needed.
- Cross-train team members to ensure coverage and resilience in daily operations.
- Promote open communication and celebrate team successes to boost morale and retention.
- Responsible for the performance and development of direct report(s) and/or team with effective supervision and coaching where applicable.
- Follow all workplace safety and security policies and procedures. Report accidents, injuries and incidents to security / talent & culture team immediately.
- Participate & contribute actively in all Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability initiatives organised by the Hotel.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned.
- Degree in Accountancy / Finance or equivalent
- Professional qualification such as CPA / CA / CMA will be an added advantage
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in managerial appointment in the hospitality industry
