Manager Global Education Programs*This is a remote or hybrid position located in Singapore.Your Purpose:This position will be physically located outside of North America with a current target location of Singapore. Under direction from the Managing Director, Professional Development and working in consultation/partnership with the International Department this position will take responsibility for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of quality curricula and education programs for candidates, members and other audiences, with a particular focus on learners outside of North America. Manages the ongoing administration of certificate programs. Ensures the development and implementation of the SOA's objectives for course-based adult education, in both pre-qualification and professional development. Works to continually improve the overall learner experience and learning outcomes of assigned programs. Aligns all programs and initiatives and works to innovate new program ideas consistent with the strategic direction of the organization. Liaises with volunteers, consultants and cross-functional teams as appropriate within the SOA’s Education, Professional Development, Engagement, International, etc. departments to produce high-quality learning, performance support and professional growth solutions.What You’ll Do:
  • Conceptualize, frame and manage multi-faceted complex initiatives and projects related to adult education including new employer-related programs, new and customized certificate programs and new micro-credentials.
  • Identify opportunities to customize the credentialing pathway for global markets and work with the Education and International departments to implement changes.
  • Coordinate with, and provide support to, the Professional Development department’s Director of Learning Content & Design in the creation of on-demand adult professional development content, including ensuring we have content applicable for audiences outside of North America.
  • Collaborate with volunteer communities outside of North America to understand member education needs and design programs to address those needs delivered in various methods (i.e., in person, live virtual and on-demand).
  • Manage ongoing administration of certificate programs.
  • Conduct ongoing monitoring of assigned programs and utilize learner and evaluation data to ensure that standards of excellence and professionalism are met and that programs remain relevant to the intended audience; establish such evaluation metrics for new programs as assigned.
  • Staff liaison for education programs and related volunteer groups such as Global CERA, certificate programs (such as the Predictive Analytics, International Financial Reporting for Insurers, Ethical & Responsible Use of Data & Predictive Models, and Climate Risk Certificate Programs) and CAA Global initiative as well as existing employer-related education programs and other programs under the Edvance umbrella.
  • Manage vendor contracts and relationships related to assigned initiatives and projects; assure adherence to budgetary requirements.
  • Establish effective dialogue/partnership with staff, volunteers, employers, and other major stakeholders to ensure programs and initiatives make appropriate use of resources and meet needs of stakeholders.
  • Assist in facilitating the development and repurposing of current and relevant technical and business content and learning options for delivery using various approaches, formats and technologies, particularly for learners outside of North America.
  • Partner with volunteers and staff to produce high quality learning solutions.
  • Coordinate staff responsible for initiative and project operations.
  • Participate and contribute to SOA Board meetings and SOA Staff Senior Executive Team as appropriate.
  • Respond to candidate, volunteer, member and employer inquiries related to concerns or challenges, educational or career decisions and programming, etc.
  • Prepare regular reports on educational outcomes and sales performance
What You’ll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree required in related fields, Masters degree in related area desirable.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in professional nonprofit association environment, and/or similarly relevant experience, developing adult learning programs.
  • Knowledge of SOA programs and services, familiarity with other actuarial organizations and/or experience working with diverse cultures highly desired.
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated experience managing complex projects.
  • Proven experience navigating political/cultural differences. Ability to embrace and foster diversity.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management experience.
