The Air Traffic Management Research Institute (ATMRI) was jointly established by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in 2013. As a renowned research institute, ATMRI focuses on finding innovative solutions to advance air traffic management (ATM) and catalyze the transformation of ATM systems in the region. The institute is at the forefront of research, integrating advanced AI, data analytics, and human-centered approaches to enable next-generation ATM systems.We are seeking a Research Engineer II (DevOps + Integration) to conduct innovative research in air traffic management, especially on the development of simulation environment and controller enhancement tools for air traffic management to support human in the loop experiments and proof of concepts up to Technology Readiness Level 4. The key responsibilities involved will include:Key ResponsibilitiesSet up and manage local integration environment (Linux-based)Orchestrate simulation engine, backend coordination service, GUI client, and pseudo-role toolsImplement lightweight logging subsystem for events, tool usage, voice commands (file- or Redis-based)Build and maintain CLI tools for triggering scripts, pseudo-pilot commands, and test workflowsHandle TCP/IP socket setup and mock endpoints for simulation and voice clientsAutomate unit/integration testing and ensure end-to-end system runs stablyRequirements:Minimally Bachelor in Computer Science or related fields with over 8 years of experienceStrong background in Linux system integration, Python scripting, and inter-process communicationExperience deploying and wiring multi-module simulation or robotics systemsFamiliarity with Redis, MQTT, or pub-sub frameworks a plusComfort with CLI, Docker (optional), shell scriptingKnowledge on aviation, speech interfaces, or scenario orchestration is advantageousWe regret to inform that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.Hiring Institution: NTU
