
Unix Engineer (With OpenShift Expertise)

- Manage, configure, and optimize Unix/Linux environments (RHEL, AIX, or Solaris).
- Perform patching, upgrades, and performance tuning across production and non-production systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system-level incidents with minimal downtime.
- Deploy, manage, and support Red Hat OpenShift clusters in on-premises or hybrid environments.
- Build and maintain containerized solutions for critical banking applications.
- Automate deployment, monitoring, and scaling of applications using CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration tools.
- Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards in container environments.
- Provide operational support for core banking systems running on Unix/OpenShift platforms.
- Monitor system health, logs, and privileged access in line with compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to minimize operational risk.
- Ensure alignment with ITIL processes (incident, change, and problem management).
- Implement and enforce access control, vulnerability management, and log retention policies.
- Support audits, compliance checks, and reporting for regulatory bodies.
- Contribute to business continuity planning (backup, DR, high availability).
- Platform Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift (OCP), including managing day-2 operations like cluster upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting.
- Automation: Advanced knowledge of Ansible for automating infrastructure and application tasks.
- Middleware & Integrations: Proficiency with Red Hat's middleware products, such as JBoss EAP, AMQ, and 3scale, as well as an understanding of Single Sign-On (SSO) and Red Hat Build of Keycloak (RHBK).
- Storage & Security: Expertise with Red Hat OpenShift Data Foundation (ODF) for storage management and Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security (ACS) for securing container environments.
- Scripting: Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash for custom automation, data manipulation, and administrative tasks.
- Linux Fundamentals: Expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration, including command-line tools and system-level configuration.
- GitOps & CI/CD: Experience with GitOps principles and tools like Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management (ACM) for multi-cluster management and GitOps workflows
