Trading Manager (Agricultural Commodities)

- Market analysis: Conduct thorough market analysis, stay updated with industry trends, monitor supply and demand dynamics, and evaluate geopolitical factors to make informed trading decisions
- Risk management: Manage and mitigate potential market risks associated with agricultural commodities trading by developing and implementing effective hedging strategies
- Relationship building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers and other stakeholders to expand the company's trading network and maximise opportunities
- Pricing negotiation: negotiate favourable pricing terms with suppliers and customers to ensure competitive and profitable trading transactions
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant trading regulations, industry standards and internal policies
- Trade documentation: Accurately maintain all trade- related documentation, contracts and records
- Performance monitoring: Monitor and analyse trading performance, profitability and identify areas of improvement
- Benchmarking: Maintain all historical records of price and cost related to a particular commodity so that benchmarking with respect to time, quality and quantity of the commodity is possible
- Payments: Coordinate with accounts team for issuance of invoices as per contract terms and conditions and coordinate with buyer on accounts receivables
- Logistics: Ensure the timely clearance of goods at destinations and assist in other logistics issues such as storage and transportation
- Recruitment: Liaise with HR department on positions that needs to be created and filled including advising on relevant skillset required for each of the positions identified, take part in the interview and selection process and assist in making the final decision in future
- Minimum 10 - 15 years of working experience in the area of trading agricultural commodities globally. Open to traders with experience in *any* of the following commodities: Grains, Wheat, Soy, Rice or Corn.
- Sound knowledge of sellers and buyers contracts and must have experience in containerized shipment of physical commodity and its documentation
- Possess strong business or industry insights with strong demonstrable analytical skills
- Have excellent connections with overseas buyers
- Have a track record of successful agricultural commodities trading with global customers
- Excellent leadership capabilities and interpersonal skills
