  • Oversee and advise technology transfer officers in navigating tough contract negotiations by revising clauses, implementing mitigation measures, and identifying residual risks to ensure successful and compliant agreements.
  • Develop, review and maintain practical, industry-relevant agreement templates and a database of pre-approved contractual guidelines to support technology transfer officers in negotiating clause deviations effectively.
  • Ensure adherence to contractual and grant obligations, IP laws and IP registration process and protection and government laws and regulations of applied research-related agreements.
  • Lead the development and execution of intellectual property protection strategies to enhance commercialization potential and maximize industry adoption of university research outputs.
  • Oversee the deployment of a seamless system integration and management of an end-to-end applied research system.
  • Drive digital transformation strategies that streamline research collaboration, licensing, and IP processes and ensure workflows are efficient, transparent, and audit-ready
  • Educate researchers about intellectual property policies and opportunities, and providing advisory and guidance on research output disclosures, patent applications, and technology marketing to maximize the potential of the IP.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with principal investigators (PI), technology transfer divisions of co-PIs, regional, national, and international licensing partners and investors to maximize IP licensing opportunities.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies to match industry and public agency needs with the university's IP generated from research and innovation projects.
Job Requirement
  • Degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Law, Science, Engineering, or Technology Management.
  • Strong understanding of intellectual property laws, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
  • Familiarity with the processes involved in technology transfer and commercialization, including licensing and startup creation.
  • Basic knowledge of market research and analysis techniques to identify commercial opportunities.
  • At least 15 years of experience in technology transfer, IP management, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of working with industry partners, investors, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing projects, including planning, execution, and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team of professionals.
