- Run monthly General Ledger Account Ownership (GLAO) process for the Group, including preparation of GLAO monthly report
- Track and monitor GLAO issues and ensure any control gaps are adequately addressed
- Analyse Manual Journal Entries (MJE) variances and address any control gaps with stakeholders
- Refresh GLAO & MJE e-learning biannually
- Drive consistency in application of group controls framework across financial reporting processes and ensure compliance with internal guidelines and standards across locations, business and support units
- Responsible to run monthly GLAO process for the Group, and the preparation of monthly GLAO report
- Conduct Quality Assurance Reviews (QAR) to strengthen controls and compliance over financial reporting process
- Analyse MJE variances, preparation of quarterly MJE dashboard report, and strengthen controls around the use of MJEs
- Assist team lead in driving MJE reduction in partnership with business and support units.
- Provide advisory support on financial control policies, standards, and processes
- Drive continuous improvements and standardization efforts across locations, business and support units to strengthen the control environment
- Promote and drive control mindset and awareness across the Group
- Participate in projects that span across Group Finance Controllership / Group Finance and ad-hoc assignments
- Good degree in Accounting with minimally 4-6 years of relevant experience in audit, financial control and operational risk management preferably in a bank or financial institution.
- Demonstrate a strong financial control mindset and have a good understanding of balance sheet substantiation.
- Good accounting skills with knowledge of IFRS and Singapore Financial Reporting Standards.
- Good knowledge of financial products and services and in the area of financial instruments will be an advantage.
- Possess good communication and analytical skills. Able to distil and frame issues clearly to internal stakeholders.
- Able to interact well across different departments and locations at different levels of seniority.
- Keen analytical skills, meticulous and detail oriented.
- Can-do attitude, possess initiative, ability to work independently and is a good team player.
- Proficient in MS Office applications. Proficient in Qlikview and analytical tools will be an advantage.
- Able to work under pressure and interested in developing a career in a dynamic banking environment.
