  • Support the Section Project Lead in daily operational activities.
  • Execute assigned mechanical tasks while ensuring quality standards and adherence to schedule.
  • Provide input on design methodology and applicable standards for the project.
  • Stay updated on new regulations, rules, products, and industry standards.
  • Submit daily progress updates on project activities, including man-hours and schedules.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Independently carry out mechanical design work (2D & 3D) and take the lead on projects within the section.
  • Mentor and support fellow mechanical engineers, assistant engineers, and draftsmen to collaborate effectively.
  • Analyze and resolve technical issues related to mechanical scope within the project.
  • Document and report on project design data, including object quantities.
  • Participate in project and departmental meetings, and present progress updates.
  • Deliver assigned design drawings and documentation on schedule.
  • Prepare and evaluate machinery and piping calculations, technical specifications, and vendor-submitted drawings.
  • Develop and assess 2D layout and schematic designs for marine machinery and piping systems, including formal submissions.
  • Create and review 3D models for marine machinery and piping, along with related production and site drawings/support materials.
  • Assist the Project Section Lead in resolving technical issues related to mechanical engineering.
  • Liaise with shipyards, consultants, vendors, and other external stakeholders.
  • Report directly to the Mechanical Project Section Lead or Mechanical Technical Lead.
  • Involved in various types of projects such as new builds, repair work, system upgrades, and conversions.
Job Requirements
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in machinery and piping design for newbuilding projects in the marine or offshore sectors.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a senior engineering role or higher.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and AVEVA software.
  • Well-versed in classification society rules and statutory regulations.
  • Sound understanding of machinery, piping, and HVAC system design.
  • Strong communication skills and analytical thinking abilities.
