Job DescriptionApplications are invited for a Research Associate position in the NUS Centre for International Law (CIL). This is a 1-year contractual position offered in connection with CIL's expansion of its programme on Public International Law. The objective of the position is to develop the research capabilities and knowledge of junior scholars by immersing them in a dynamic and supportive research environment where they can enhance their understanding of different areas of public international law.The duties of the incumbent will involve:
Engaging in research and writing on different areas of public international law;
Assisting in the preparation of the curriculum, reading material and administration of the CIL Academy of International Law;
Assisting in the preparation of the annual international law year in review conference, as well as other seminars and workshops;
Providing support to the development of seminars and conferences
All research staff in CIL will have access to professional development opportunities (e.g., events, seminars, and training programmes) within NUS. They will also have opportunities to attend regional and international conferences, workshops, and symposiums as well as other scholarly opportunities.Qualifications
LLM degree in Public International Law. PhD candidates are also encouraged to apply;
Working experience in research institutes or academic environment would be advantageous;
Strong research and writing skills with the ability to prepare research papers on specific research topics assigned;
Fluent language skills in English is required. Additional languages a plus.
