Job Description:Job DescriptionAt IPS, you will apply your knowledge, skills, and passion to make a difference in the lives of people, solving complex challenges related to life sciences. We are looking for an Intermediate /Senior Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Engineer to join our team based at our office located in Singapore. This is a permanent full-time office based role.The I&C Engineer provides the IPS project team with technical leadership and automation expertise for the design, engineering, and construction of Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharmaceutical related projects.Position Responsibilities
  • Provides automation engineering support for moderate to complex process engineering projects.
  • Develops automation User Requirements Specifications (URS) based on customer needs.
  • Collaborates with the process design and project teams to support the execution of successful project studies.
  • Develop the design and specifications for DCS, PLC, and SCADA-based process control systems for IPS clients and projects.
  • Develop the design of process control and automation systems in compliance with cGMP, GAMP, related industry standards, and customer requirements.
  • Collaborates with client counterpart to develop control systems concepts, architectures, and control platforms as applied to the client project.
  • Identifies, qualifies, and collaborates with third-party system integrators as necessary to support project and company business objectives.
  • Prepares or reviews budgets based on experience and scope of the project.
  • Promotes the use of and participation in the development of company design and production standards.
  • Develop or supervise the development of I&C design deliverables including datasheets, control narratives, P&IDs, control schematics, network architecture diagrams, control panel design, and cable/conduit/tray routing.
  • Works with end users and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to coordinate the application of automation products.
  • Interfaces with Electrical and Process Engineers to fully coordinate design requirements for network, power, control, and instrumentation.
  • Performs automation-related job functions as assigned, including preparation of I/O lists, Instrumentation lists, and the specification of instrumentation and control elements.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent degree from an accredited university.
  • 5+ years of diversified engineering experience with in-depth knowledge of industry requirements and applications within the Process Automation for Bio-Pharmaceutical Manufacturing.
  • 10+ years of experience with industrial process control systems including DCS, PLC, and SCADA-based systems.
  • 10+ years of experience with process instrumentation.
  • Experience with:
o Engineering design programs and computer-aided drafting (CAD).
o Development of control system network architectures.
o Specifying field instrumentation, process analyzers, DCS/PLC hardware, and wiring design.
o CSA/ISA standards and the interpretation of P&ID drawings.#li-gs1
