- Delegate tasks effectively and manage resources efficiently to maximize productivity.
- Interpret technical specifications, compile job lists and schedules, and plan material take-off and workforce requirements for yard personnel and contractors. Promptly alert the Commercial and Production Manager of any potential technical or manpower-related issues in repair or project activities.
- Review and approve materials based on material take-off plans and liaise with the Purchasing Department to ensure timely material delivery.
- Prepare projections for manpower requirements, material deliveries, and necessary facilities.
- Collaborate closely with the Project Manager, Commercial, Subcontracting, and various departments to align procedures and schedules for successful job completion.
- Act as the departmental representative in daily production, operations, and management meetings. Participate in scheduled client meetings to address engineering clarifications and technical queries.
- Promote and uphold safety standards, staff discipline, training needs identification, and overall staff welfare.
- Ensure strict compliance with statutory, company, quality, environmental, and occupational health and safety standards and procedures.
- Plan, execute, and actively pursue continuous improvement in health and safety, quality, environmental performance, and overall productivity.
- Coordinate and communicate with regulatory agencies, clients, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to meet requirements within commercial constraints.
- Oversee the achievement of company and project milestones through strategic planning, logistics coordination, and effective execution.
- Optimize work processes and utilization of equipment, and manage departmental budgets effectively.
- Minimize material wastage and ensure leftover materials are properly tracked and returned to inventory upon project completion.
- Draft and review departmental documentation, including Risk Assessments (RA), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), internal and external audits, and Operational Requirements (ORs).
- Ensure strict adherence to the Permit-to-Work system by all team members.
- Confirm all job completion reports are submitted in a timely manner by the assigned ship in-charge.
- Carry out additional duties as instructed by the Production Manager.
- Foster a culture of cleanliness and safety among all staff, ensuring safe work practices are consistently followed on board vessels and within workshop areas.
- A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in the marine industry or related environment.
- Possess a Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
