What the role is:You provide professional counselling for MINDEF/SAF personnel faced with mental health, psycho-social and substance abuse/addiction-related issues. As the subject matter expert on counselling-related matters, you undertake the management of difficult cases and develop individualised psychological care plans.What you will be working on:- Provide counselling supervision to counsellors, formation psychologists, and paracounsellors on the effective management and treatment of the servicemen - Conduct assessments and implement intervention plans - Collaborate with stakeholders for holistic counselling services - Respond to operational duties such as manning the 24-hour SAF Counselling Hotline and facilitating critical incident stress debriefings for MINDEF/SAF servicemen involved in critical incidents - Research counselling-related trends - Plan preventive education strategies and training curriculum to meet the needs of commanders and managers in MINDEF/SAF Challenge(s) - Managing complex psychological cases - Being operationally ready at all times to support operational needs and critical events - Establishing good linkages and network with relevant mental health entities and community resourcesWhat we are looking for:- Education in Counselling, Psychology or Social Work - At least 8 years of relevant work experience - A registered practitioner with the Singapore Association for Counselling, Singapore Association of Social Workers, Association of Professionals Specialising in Addiction Counselling, or Singapore Psychological Society Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.About MINDEF:The mission of MINDEF and the Singapore Armed Forces is to enhance Singapore's peace and security through deterrence and diplomacy, and should these fail, to secure a swift and decisive victory over the aggressor.
