- Manage and develop a portfolio of bunker customers (shipping companies, vessel operators, etc.).
- Negotiate prices, contracts, and terms for marine fuel supply.
- Implement optimal procurement strategies to maintain competitive pricing and service.
- Oversee daily trading operations, including negotiations, logistics, and contract execution.
- Analyze market trends, pricing movements, and geopolitical factors affecting the bunker market.
- Provide clients with informed recommendations based on market analysis.
- Stay updated on global fuel regulations (e.g., IMO2020) and industry compliance standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with fuel suppliers, customers, and industry stakeholders.
- Monitor fuel supply chains and mitigate risks related to pricing, supply disruptions, and regulations.
- Collaborate with internal teams (logistics, finance, legal) and mentor junior traders to support business growth.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., IFO, CIM) is a plus.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in bunker trading or a related role in the maritime or energy sector.
- Proven experience in managing client relationships and achieving profitable trading outcomes, with strong knowledge of the global bunker market, fuel specifications, and pricing mechanisms.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret market data and thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Expertise in bunker trading (physical and paper markets), environmental regulations (e.g., IMO 2020), and a strong network within the global shipping or bunker fuel industry.
